Will get an ear on the Dallas Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, and Dallas Opera

I've just arrived in Dallas, Texas to participate in the annual meeting of of the Music Critics Association of North America (MCANA). Yes, it's time to compare notes and swap stories with my fellow scribblers in the field of classical music. We will hear the Dallas Symphony conducted by its MD Jaap van Zweden this evening. Here's the program:

- Tchaikovsky: Souvenir de Florence
- Mozart: Concerto No. 10 for two pianos - ArthurJussen, Lucas Jussen
- Ravel: Mother Goose

I've heard and read a lot of good things about van Zweden and will meet him tomorrow, because he's the special guest at the MCANA lunch.

Over the next couple of days I'll also hear the Fort Worth Symphony and see the new Moby Dick opera that Dallas Opera has mounted.
